Introducing The 2 Monkeys VAUDEVILLE

Thank you for visiting us today.

Today, as the title suggests, we would like to introduce The 2 Monkeys' masterpiece VAUDEVILLE .

The 2 Monkeys VAUDEVILLE

Vaudeville is a popular entertainment form that originated in France at the end of the 19th century. It was all the rage in the United States before movies became popular.

The 2 Monkeys' VAUDEVILLE was created with the image of the shoes worn by vaudeville actors traveling from city to city. It was inspired by American and French boots around 1910. Although it is not a reproduction of a specific vintage boot, it seems that the name represents the form of entertainment, considering that vaudeville is a form of entertainment that spread from France to America.

In fact, movies were originally shown during intermissions at vaudeville shows. It was much later that movies were shown in movie theaters.

In this way, vaudeville and early movies had a very close relationship. In fact, many of the stars of early silent movies were from vaudeville.

VAUDEVILLE has a slightly dressy look, but it goes well with workwear such as blue-tag painter pants.

The inspiration for The 2 Monkeys' VAUDEVILLE is said to be Charles Chaplin and Buster Keaton, who were both vaudeville actors.

In his masterpiece Modern Times, in which Chaplin himself stars, you can see him wearing slightly raised-toe boots like VAUDEVILLE with hickory-striped workwear.

VAUDEVILLE is so light that you wouldn't think it's a boot, so it might not be impossible to jump around lightly like Chaplin in the movie.

Please come to our store and experience its lightness for yourself!
