In the 1960s, the U.S. Forces Japan Acquisition Headquarters chose to source camouflage uniforms in Japan. This is because it combines advanced printing technology and speedy productivity, and is also superior in terms of cost. The pattern was left up to the factory floor in various parts of Japan, which is why countless variations of the tiger stripe pattern were created. Many of the early tiger stripes were made in Japan, but fabric was sent to Okinawa to be sewn, and some were also made in Thailand and around Vietnam during the latter stages of the Vietnam War. We also sell shorts "Lot No. BR51904" using the same fabric.
