A historic collaboration between Lee and Nigel Cabourn celebrating the 101st anniversary of Lee's iconic "101" jeans. These exceptional wide-leg denim pants draw inspiration from Great War–era ranch worker and European military wear (1942–45), meticulously researched and authentically recreated.
The standout feature is the original "BURLY DENIM" fabric—a faithful reproduction of wartime denim that blends multiple raw materials and yarn thicknesses to mirror supply shortages of the period. Available in two distinct weaves: indigo (layered with sulfide and rope dyeing) and green (cheese dyed with sulfide). Woven on restored vintage power looms, the uneven right and left twills develop unique, individual aging patterns as you wear them.
Every detail honours the era's constraints and craftsmanship. Laurel buttons, plain rivets, and characteristically loose "L-shaped" pockets—simplified for wartime efficiency—sit alongside playful vintage touches like reproduced seam-allowance folds that reveal selvage edges. Lazy S stitching, thread rivets, red centre tag, and union ticket complete the painstaking authenticity.
Nigel Cabourn's refined "OXed Silver" pattern delivers a cleaner aesthetic while maintaining an exquisite, substantial wide silhouette that feels substantial underfoot. Pairs perfectly with the matching "RANCH WORKER 101-J" jacket for an overwhelming presence that harmonises Great War heritage with Japanese, American, and European craftsmanship.
Note: Expect approximately 1–2 cm shrinkage on first wash depending on your washing environment.
