Design History
The 2 Monkeys "Vaudeville" is created by the inspiration from early 20th century boots. At that time, boots were made not necessarily for workers, soldiers or mountain climbers.
The boots were for everybody. It was before driving cars became popular and roads were paved. Most of the people need to walk unpaved roads everyday. Many boots at that time needed to wear boots to avoid sand and muds got into there shoes. Since boots are made for everybody, they needed

to be comfortable enough. The boots are that time, in general,
are much lighter, more flexible comparing to "work boots" that developed later era by proritizing safety and durability even sacrificing the comfort.
The early 20th century was the time when much more hand-crafting processes are included to make a pair of shoes. It allowed the boots at that time to have specific designs with a lot of organic curvatures with spade-shapes sole wider forepart vs. squeezed waist), pitched (tapered) heel, etc. The 2 Monkeys Vaudeville was designed to bring back the time's beauty.
Combination of black smooth leather and suede was also a method of the time to provide both comfort and beauty. Using soft leathers such as suede in the upper half of the boot enable ease at ankle bones while offering the pleasure of two-tone colours.
The 2 Monkeys Vaudeville "Bourbon" brings you back the taste of the time with black (teacore) horsehide and suede. Both leathers grow patina as you wear the boots.
About repair
The 2 Monkeys Vaudeville is built by combination of goodyear-welt construction (forepart) and blake-stitching construction (waist to heel).
Full resoling might be difficult for usual cobblers. To avoid the full resoling, please have your cobbler replace the rubber parts (halt rubber sheet in the forepart and top lift of the heel), whenever they are worn.
Maintenance of waist of sole
To better preserve the leather-exposed part of the sole, applying oil-based shoe care product (such as Mink Oil), one in a few month, is recommended.
