Nigel Cabourn New Medical Shirt Salt & Pepper in Charcoal

A heather marl version of our classic New Medical Shirt with a delicate salt and pepper look achieved by spinning different colour short staple fibres.

The original design for the New Medical Shirt is based on the shirts worn by medics who participated in Edmund Hillary's successful Everest Expedition in 1953. With unique reinforcement covers round the yoke to the arm holes, and ventilation holes on the back and under the arm, this shirt provides comfort and breathability while wearing.

The small yarn count, triple needle stitching and lapped seams are all signs of quality Japanese craftsmanship. The embroidered holes (for ventilation) are done with very old specialist machines, which is why the edges of the holes are looped beautifully. Every feature on the Medical Shirt is carefully considered and has a function.
